Conversations with the Spirit
Part 1
"Tell me about those gifts you once gave us. How do we unseal them?"
"Those gifts were not something empty, an empty word. They were not a word, but they brought the word into being. They created the very substance you see around you now. They were on the surface, in your service, but they retreated into the depths of your estrangement.
And now you, like blind kittens, try to draw near to warmth, but you do not see it, you do not feel it. You grope along, sometimes in circles, searching for a resting place."
"What is it, tell me, about these gifts?"
"Separation. Separation implies the ability to say goodbye, to leave while hiding off in the distance. When you say farewell, you intend to return; you do not depart irretrievably into nowhere. Having bid goodbye to what you had, you as if leave behind the right to find your way back home.
Now much will change, the outlines of familiar forms will be altered for you. The world will begin to enchant with its charm. But do not rush to see carefree revelry in this. Wait. Perhaps soon an altogether different milestone will begin in your lifetime?
And you will no longer be so carefree, but you will not be defenseless either.
You will gain a shield within yourself. These are the knowledges and the virtues you have been cultivating within. It is your saving vest, so to speak.
"Tell me more, what did the fallen seal within us?"
"They concealed the truth. Through your memory, disarming you completely, leaving you vulnerable. Without memory it is so hard to recall anything, but memory is not an obstacle. It only helps you come back to yourself."
