✦Mental Philosophy
iPhone application

Privacy Policy

We designed the app so its data remains under the user’s control. The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or proprietary processing server.

In short: the developer and mentalphilosophy.info do not receive your recordings, texts, location, or OpenAI key. For transcription and image generation, the app connects directly to OpenAI using the user’s key.

1. Data held by the app

2. Where data is stored

Records are stored locally on the iPhone. When iCloud is enabled, text, images, coordinates, and saved audio sync through the user’s personal iCloud container. The developer has no access to that container. The API key is stored in iPhone Keychain.

3. OpenAI

Audio transcription and image generation are performed through direct requests from the app to OpenAI. Selected audio chunks are sent for transcription; prompt text is sent for image generation. According to OpenAI, API data is not used to train models by default unless the account owner opts in; abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days.

4. Location and permissions

Location is used only with permission to attach coordinates and display points on the map. It is not sent to the developer or OpenAI. The microphone is used for recording, notifications for iCloud status, and file access for audio import.

5. Deleting data

Individual entries and audio can be deleted in Calendar. “Delete all audio” and “Clear all data” are available in Profile and require confirmation. Deleting the app removes local data; synced data can be removed through the app or iCloud settings.

6. Tracking and advertising

The app contains no ads, advertising SDKs, analytics, or tracking. Data is not sold.
