The Parable of the Fugitive Prisoner.

Once, a prisoner hid in a cave.
He had walked for a long time under pouring rains before finding shelter in a quiet, secluded spot.
It was dry there and fairly bright. He settled in, farther from his pursuers, farther from those who tried to catch him and put him in a cage.
He was so afraid of being captured that he spent the rest of his life in that cave, never going outside.
Every time he fell asleep, he feared that his sleep would be disturbed by those who followed him.
He feared being surprised, being caught so much that, in the end, the poor man went mad.
Talking to himself, he carried on long debates about whether he had done the right thing, regretting what he had not finished, what he had not tried.
He began to remember his former self, from before he had committed that wicked deed.
There, in deep childhood, lay his most cherished dreams: to be a seafarer, to wander the seas discovering new islands, to draw a map of the sky and follow it, following that star that beckons somewhere in the distance.
But all that remained only a faint echo of the childhood he had deprived himself of. The childhood in which he betrayed himself by committing a crime, for which punishment followed.
"Was he caught?"
"No. Having committed the wicked deed, without hearing the sentence, he was frightened by the thought of imprisonment, so he ran away."
But the irony was that the confinement he chose for himself became far harsher than the one that had been prepared for him earlier. Not listening to the sentence to the end, he fled.
So often it happens that people, not understanding the lesson of the Creator, not grasping its essence and not listening to the conclusions the Creator wanted to convey to them, try to run away, creating for themselves burdensome, sometimes unbearable circumstances. There they lose not only the world they once knew, but themselves.
What use is it to run? Those lessons, one way or another, must be lived through and accepted by you, through the conclusions you carry within yourself. To fear these lessons is to fear living, to fear yourself, because you are a part of this life, its participant and immediate witness.
Cherish life, keeping the lessons of wisdom given to you by the Creator. 🙏
