A Lesson from the Spirit

Pharisees. You have grown accustomed to behaving like them. Taking your home for someone else’s. But this house is yours, for it was bequeathed to you by me. So accept yourselves within its walls, this house of yours, as those who were not cast out but who chose to leave.

***
- What are you doing?
You leave, considering yourselves expelled from your home. But that is not so. You are mistaken. Seek somewhere that kernel of truth that is kept in your house.
When your cup is full, the house is warm and cozy, and guests are always awaited with set tables. Therefore it is easier for you to communicate, easier to walk and to search, easier to rise with the desire to do something, step by step, in your life. It is from that, from the fullness of your cup, that the hospitality with which you first receive yourselves depends. Fill yourselves with those virtues that will help you.
You must not follow anywhere with your eyes shut. Trust is about feeling, about your inner impulse, about the response of your Soul. How often do you complain that things are not going well at work, in the family, in your studies? Why do you want one thing and get another? Do you wander through a labyrinth and cannot find the exit?
Because you have not determined whose voice you hear. Are you going by the call of your heart?
- And who goes into service?
- Service is not winning an olympiad; it is a long thorny road, and your heart must be ready for it, for if it is not ready now, you will simply run away from your own house without having accepted yourself. When is a person ready? When he follows not from compulsion but from desire.
