The Parable of the Evil Sorcerer.

There once lived an evil sorcerer. He cast much misery upon honest people. He lived within the bounds of his estate, admitting no one near him.

But one day a hunter, driving prey deep into the forest, intruded into his domain. The sorcerer was angered by this, and he drove the hunter out of his hunt, drove the hunter from his lands, chased him away.

The doe the hunter had been pursuing was enchanted, but as soon as she crossed into the sorcerer’s domain, the spell fell away and she became a beautiful young woman.

And he recognized in her the girl who had once appeared to him in a dream. In that prophetic dream it had been said that because of her he would lose his magical power.

So he cast a curse upon her. He did not want to lose his power, proud of his strength and might. That is why he kept all people far from his domain, mistakenly mistaking fear for his power.

But did he know that he himself would save the one who would cause his ruin?
Yet he did save her. And only then, seeing her, did he understand that he did not want to return to his lonely castle.

And the veil of his enchantment fell from his eyes. He saw how beautiful the world was beyond the boundary of his lands. How much light he had willfully hidden by dwelling in his dark domain.

And he realized that this was not the end of his life at all, but only a bright and luminous beginning of the path he himself wished to walk. He stepped timidly, taking his first steps. But the girl, having forgiven him and not afraid, took his hand and supported him.

“Who is this girl?”
“She is that light he exiled, fearing to know it. But when he met it in his domain, in his own soul, he recognized the true power of the radiance of the Divine light.”

And you sometimes close yourselves off, believing your world to be the only thing you know and can access, not allowing a peek beyond the borders of what you have permitted yourselves. The moment you desire to see more and to be greater, not only for yourselves but for all that exists, that veil which obscured your eyes will fall. It will open to you those bright meadows and clear lakes that you once kept hidden from yourselves.

When you live within the harsh realities of the truth you were fed, it is hard to imagine anything else. Is it not so?
But the moment you turn to your inner counsel, you will discover something beautiful, inspiring, impeccable, and real.

And allow yourselves to look at the world not from on high, but by plunging wholly into its vivid colors, accepting and dissolving into those streams of light bestowed upon you by the Creator Himself.
