A Lesson from the Spirit

The Parable of the Faithful Dove.

- There was a dove of incredible beauty, with a lush white tail and strong wings. It rose up, so very high, and hovered there under the rays of the sun.
But one day a fierce wind grew so angry, it howled and knocked the dove down from the heights of the heavens, damaging his wings and tail. The dove fell, but did not feel pain. Why?
- I cannot know, I do not know.
- He did not feel pain because there was no pain. His body did not ache; only his soul groaned at the fact that he would no longer be able to rise into the sky. Into that place where the warm rays of the sun warmed him, caressing him with their tenderness.
But what did he do?
- I do not know. He asked to be healed.
- Correct, he asked for healing, but not of his body, and not of himself. He asked that the wind be healed, the wind that had been so cruel to him.
- Why?
- Because he had accepted himself, and he saw his path. But the wind needed support, a confident luminous word.
The power that can disperse any storm and confusion.
And the dove cried out then, and the wind quieted. It calmed; it breathed softly and evenly.

Then the dove thanked the Creator that He had had mercy on those who would rise again into the sky, and there, in that sky, under the warm gentle rays of the sun, they would ascend to their Creator with a plea for that love which would descend upon everyone who seeks their path.
- And what happened to the dove after that?
- Do not grieve about it. For those who rose after him, by their petition, poured out an eternal, healing light, reviving the divine spark that with tender trembling awakened in that dove, filling and healing his wounds.
So the dove, raising his head high to the sky, felt strong, mighty wings behind his back that slowly and surely lifted him upward again.

My explanations: This is a remarkable parable about fidelity to one’s spirituality. Even when you have been treated cruelly, to ask for mercy for that cruelty is a great power of faith.
It is the story of how one, through himself, helped many to rise. And he himself received healing.
