A Lesson from the Spirit

To believe means to go forward having let go of hope. When does faith awaken in you? In moments of despair, of hope, of sorrow or of joy? You tend to believe what you wish for. It matters less what you wish for than whose wishes they are: your soul’s or your mind’s? When you desire with your soul, you do not merely dream of it; you live those moments as something already present in your life, something settled, something that has found calm, established and anchored within you.

So it is with faith: it is born inside you as an invisible core, adorned with many facets that shine so beautifully within you. The more calm and serenity you have, the more harmony within you, the more facets your faith will have. And each of them gives its own radiance. Shining with every facet, your faith unfolds in a light never seen before, flaring so brightly that this light is noticeable to many.

Have you noticed how others sometimes look at you as if entranced, as if unsure what they need? Not your knowledge, not your skills or talents, not you yourself. They are drawn to the light that is inside you. And then they want to be with you, to speak with you, to have a dialogue, simply to be present nearby, because your light kindles their own.

You would understand much if you learned to believe without hope, without expectations, without any answers here and now—just to believe, knowing that faith is the unshakable rule within yourselves.

When you invite someone as a guest, you open the door and set the table. You do not keep them on the threshold; you do not scrutinize them. So it is with faith: establish yourself by opening the door of your soul, inviting it in as a welcome guest—one you are glad to see, whom you have awaited, whom you care for. And you will see this guest flare into a bright, warm glow inside yourself, leaving behind unshakable feelings of happiness, harmony, inner peace, acceptance, leaving a sense of love. Nurturing and leaving all these feelings within you, it remains with you forever—so long as you wish to keep it within you.

So be it.
