A Lesson from the Spirit

"To respect does not mean to agree."
How many wars have been built on vanity? How many paths have been reshaped anew?
"What do you mean?"
"I admire you, I admire you all, when you begin to notice all the facets of this subtle world, when you make concessions to rules yet do not concede yourself, your convictions and inner values. Value is what unites your hearts. It is that golden mean, the measure of justice celebrated in your souls. The more you show your spirituality, the deeper you go into knowing its truth, the more your soul is illuminated by that unearthly light that emanates from you.
"What does 'to respect does not mean to agree' mean?"
"To agree to concessions. These concessions do not only concern rules. They are concessions toward oneself, toward one's conscience, if you will.
You can respect one another and yet feel guilt for not sharing what is obvious to someone else, for not sharing what another sees.
That is not wrong; there is no guilt in that.
This is how you grow up, how you come to know, how you explore your inner world.
What is important to one may not resonate with another, but the value that is your soul—the very measure of justice, the golden mean—is what will help you respect everyone who surrounds you.
To respect does not mean to agree, does not mean to share what is important to others.
But what is important to you is also significant to all.
All is significant when you grasp the fundamentals of your true spiritual cultivation."
