Lesson from the Spirit

- When you have risen, reach out your hand to another.
- What do you mean?
- When you have climbed and feel your superiority over others, do not boast of it, for in doing so you diminish your own meaning in the eyes of those you wish to humiliate.
When you walk this false path, everything begins to lose its bright colors for you, it begins to fade. Yet you keep scrambling upward, not understanding that this is the way down.
When you have reached certain heights, reach out your hand to another, and you will see gratitude in their eyes, and you will see your own significance reflected in theirs.
You do not ascend for self-admiration, not to nourish your Ego — this ascent is given to you only so that, having walked your path, you may illuminate it for others, show them the way.
That is the importance of your mission.
And then, when you find yourself at the top, you will not be lonely, you will not feel dark or lifeless. You will see this life, this longing, this reverence, this gratitude in the eyes of those whose path you illuminated, in the eyes of those to whom you, by your example, reached out a helping hand. Only by understanding the true meaning of your ascent will you know the truth within yourself. For in forging your own route, you lay down guiding light for those who follow you.
