A Lesson from the Spirit

"The sun rises in the east."
"What do you mean?"
"You easily believe what you know. Knowledge strengthens your faith, making you stronger. Knowledge gives you confirmation of the correctness of your judgments. The sun rises in the east. But where does your sun rise, and when? Look within yourself, look at the sun in the portal of your soul. Has it risen? How does it shine? Where does it shine? And how long has it been with you? Answer yourself immediately, without thinking. If it shines, its rays embracing all the space around you, that is good. If it shines only within you, that is also not bad. But if you do not see it, you will not be able to prove that it has awakened in you. You need proofs only as an explanation of what is happening. Knowledge always strengthens faith. The knowledge that your sun rises within you strengthens your faith in spirituality."

"Lessons of spirituality are given to you not for your exaltation, but for admonition, for the acceptance of your true spiritual essence. Those of you who think to elevate yourselves are mistaken, falling and stumbling over your own pride. And only you yourselves can judge you—by self-scourging and regret for lessons not learned. Therefore it is so important to hear and understand why you endure all that you carry within. By healing, by transforming any negative experience into light, you nurture that very sun within you whose rays touch you and the space around you. Those rays are you themselves; they are the refinements of your experience that remain with you forever. Each ray answers to something: devotion, understanding, listening, restraint, acceptance… All of this are your rays, the rays of your sun.

Somewhere the rays are short, somewhere long, somewhere thin, somewhere wide.
"Experience you have worked through, experience you have accepted, is experience of the highest value, which grows not only within you but breaks outward, touching another's soul. Thus others awaken, through the cultivation of your experience, which is not only yours but a shared, valuable understanding of the significance of each of your paths, the significance of each of your souls. Look at your sun—where are its rays? How does it shine? What can you share with others so that they open their eyes, awakening? You will assuredly receive a result only through your own learning, through accumulated experience—do not hurry."
