A Lesson from the Spirit

There are many matches around. They build a house from them, assemble a roof. A beautiful house of matches.

“Houses built on doubt go up quickly and fall just as quickly, sometimes they burn. Confidence is the stone foundation on which a sturdy house can be raised. When you grieve over years lived, over dreams unfulfilled, you destroy your own house. If you build a house of matches, it will collapse from any puff of wind. The binding substance among them is faith. It gives confidence; it is that immovable stronghold that helps to reinforce your house, its walls and foundation. It helps you, without fears and doubts, to fling open the windows and doors and let in the true Divine radiance.

If your house is made of matches and strengthened by nothing, you will not be able to open its windows and doors for fear it will collapse, for fear of loss. You are so afraid of losing that you do not understand that by building a strong house you only gain — you gain faith, which becomes firmer and firmer with time, helping to keep the whole structure in balance.

What is this house? It is the temple of your soul. When you build it on fears and doubts, it will be of no use, for it will fall the moment you intend to unfasten a sash in it. But when you build it with truth and faith, raising strong, stable walls on an unshakable foundation, there will be no more fears and doubts in you; you will boldly open windows and doors, admitting into the temple of your soul the true unconditional love of the Creator for you, through your divine manifestation, through that very beam of the primal source light that is reflected as a bright radiance in the temple of your soul. So be it.

Do not be afraid to be filled with the true light of the Creator. For wherever a ray of your light falls, many who slept will awake and rejoice at this opening. Thank the Creator, and receive His gifts with gratitude, which are lavishly offered to you. And do not grumble at your fate when you yourselves shut yourselves off from God’s light.

When you think of the terrible, that is what you see around. When you think of the eternal, the eternal reveals itself to you in possibilities that multiply your abilities. And the eternal is the soul. Whereas the soul is your faith in that immutable and real thing that is truly you.
