A Lesson from the Spirit
"When you take a sheet of paper and begin to make marks on it, what are you thinking about?"
"About the painting."
"You think of the painting as the finished product, as something completed. But when you keep drawing and realize the painting will turn out different, do you feel upset?
It is important to understand life through the painting.
When you imagine something as already accomplished, you proceed toward it step by step, and when you arrive and see something else, you begin to be upset, to complain, to be disappointed.
If you learn to approach it with ease, with trust that everything you have put on that canvas is the best reflection of what you need, of what you personally require, then your path will be easy.
And coming to that painting, drawing near to it, you will want to recognize yourself in it, you will want to catch its character in your own reflection.
What does that mean? It means you accept yourself, accept all the uneven strokes, for those strokes are you and your reflection, and how you perceive the painting determines how much you are in harmony with yourself.
When you treat the painting you made as something unnecessary, unwanted, something you want to hide behind a thick black cloth, you do not hide the painting—you hide yourself; you hide from the world.
You become invisible to everyone. And yet you ask for goodness, ask the Universe for support and various blessings.
But that will not happen until you allow yourself to remove that dense black fabric from your canvas and look at it with an open, sincere gaze, a gaze full of understanding, awareness, forgiveness, a gaze full of acceptance.
Where each of your revelations is an awareness, where, by understanding and healing something in yourself, you accept it as an important part of who you are.
And in that moment you will begin to feel the fire in your chest begin to grow, gradually, as your painting is illuminated by light, the true light of the Creator.
By receiving that light through the painting, by letting it into yourself, you thereby harmonize your inner state, the state of peace and acceptance, the state of the Creator’s true unconditional love for you; as you kindle the fire more and more, you become noticeable, open, welcoming, happy, becoming your true self, born of God and illumined by His light.
So be it.
