A Lesson from the Spirit

They show me tall mountains. The Spirit takes my hand and leads me along a path. I climb higher and higher until I begin to suffocate.

"What is this about?"

"About accepting yourself. You often don't accept yourself, you treat it as something unimportant. But this is where you begin this path, and with what you begin this path. You climb higher and higher, realizing that with every step it becomes harder to go. The longer you refuse to accept yourself, the harder it becomes. Why?"

"Because the air is thin up there?"

"It's not about the air itself, it's about you, about the desire to appear as someone you are not. You replace your true self, substitute the values, the views, the agreements, the knowledge and skills you actually possess, and so you suffocate as you go forward, higher and higher.

You suffocate because down there, at the foot of this mountain, where you began your journey, you did not accept yourself.

And it's not the pressure of the air on you as such, no; you are the one compressing yourself, not allowing your lungs to expand fully, not allowing yourself to take a full breath in to gather all that you accept and to breathe out what you are being cleansed of. Not accepting yourself, you cannot be cleansed, you cannot be filled, so you start to suffocate, to panic, to fret, to ask what is happening. And the answer lies down there, where you began your path.

You often make things complicated when the answers are within you, on the very surface, in the field of your vision; you only need to desire to see yourself. By substituting yourself, your qualities, without changing inwardly, you only create additional pressure, under which it becomes ever more difficult to climb.

"What should I do?"

"Accept yourself. Accept yourself as you are, forgive and love yourself as a parent forgives their child; desire to accept the self you rejected, the one you did not want and did not accept, the one you forgot and ignored. All the while your soul cried out in pain, cried out with the desire to be seen and noticed by you.

As soon as you accept yourself, your path will clear, your lungs will expand, you will be able to take a deep inhalation and exhalation, and step firmly and confidently with your foot along the given route, where you come to know yourself and God within yourself.
So be it.
