A Lesson from the Spirit

“What did you want to hear, my child?”
“A new lesson.”
“How many times have you reread it?”
“Few.”
“The number of lessons is not what matters; what matters is whether your students hear you. A teacher is filled by their students when they see their success, their striving, their thirst for knowledge.
“What do you mean?”
“You did not come here for knowledge alone; you came for the result. And result without knowledge is incomprehensible. To stand firmly you need a solid foundation. Many of you are fixated on results, skipping the learning process.
The learning process is continuous work on yourself; knowing yourself is a continuous process.
You are like a child who wants to see their birthday present. Why do you throw a party?”
“For fun.”
“Why not give the present right away?”
“The anticipation wouldn’t be the same.”
“Right. If you give the present immediately, the child won’t understand the importance and value of the moment. The learning process is itself a celebration for your soul. It is what fills you, what makes you richer, more confident, happier, more joyful.
Without learning you cannot know yourself. No one can open the door to your soul for you. They can only guide you, point the way, suggest, but you must walk that path yourself. Can you receive something by doing nothing?
This is a path you are ready for, a path you must follow. A path with many stops for reflection, for understanding. Through communication, through nourishment, through realization.
So let it be.
