A Lesson from the Spirit
You go through many stages in forming your personality. You identify yourself with erudition, with character, with manners… Many aspects touch on this matter. But the aspect of spirituality you often leave behind.
Like a locomotive racing forward, you do not look into the maw of its engine.
You toss coal in haphazardly. Because of that you have less and less strength to switch tracks.
A branch of probability is nothing other than tracks; you can imagine them as railway lines, where you are the full-steam locomotive. But when the coals run out, there is no strength left to turn onto a particular branch of the line.
And you simply ride the worn roads, along the same rails, missing important turnings.
If you look at your possibilities as a kind of path, it becomes clear why you do not achieve greater development, why you so often walk as if in a closed circle where all the locations are painfully familiar to you, and the only thing that keeps you from leaving is your obsession with ideas.
If you immerse yourself in a state of pure consciousness, you will understand that the fuel for your locomotive is concentrated energy located at a single point of being.
This is easily attained by a proportionate perception of All that exists and of yourself as an important element.
When you live by a system of clear, open vision, entirely different vistas open to you. And you no longer care where you are going. You are so focused on the inner study and understanding of yourself that you do not see goals or obstacles. You simply trust the single flow in which your soul ripens.
Trusting it, you enter those branches of event-reality that were previously inaccessible to you.
And there entirely different mechanisms of influence on the further formation of your spiritual self are created.
All these tools are comprehensible to you, long familiar, like things you have already seen and used once. But only now will they appear to your sight with a completely new, different resonance of feeling and knowledge.
Feelings and knowledge are that indestructible balance within each of you that must be worked through—worked through precisely—by way of understanding and acceptance.
And then you will cease to be surprised and will believe in all that happens to you, where you will apprehend those new worlds and yourself as a single indivisible important aspect of being.
