A Lesson from the Spirit

“Look at your hands. Look at your hands. Hairline patterns drawing destinies.”
“Why destinies?”
“Your destiny is borrowed by others.”
“How do you mean, Spirit? My destiny is borrowed by others?”
“Yes. You look at your palm, at your fingers, and what do you see? You see your palm, the patterns on your fingers. Right?”
“I think so.”
“And what about others?”
“They see the same.”
“Right. And each person sees only their own hand, their own patterns drawing a destiny. But your destiny does not belong only to you. It touches and interacts with the destinies of other people.
Look at your palm: there is not just one line, there are many, countless. And in each of them is someone’s destiny, not only yours.
But you have come to forget this important central point.
Your destiny is borrowed by others. Anyone who is within your reach is already a participant in your life, a builder of your fate. Someone’s glance, a barbed phrase, a fervent emotion — all of this, seeming secondary, some decoration that does not matter in your fate, is actually the germ of your thoughts, your emotions, and your actions.
You observe. Even when you do it unknowingly, not on purpose, even then you observe and absorb all information that in one way or another concerns you.
“What is the point of this lesson?”
“Tolerance toward yourself and others.
They do not make decisions for you; you do. When you stop noticing only yourself, pointing out how someone offended you, slandered you, set someone against you, spoiled you, failed to love you enough…
Everything where you felt disagreement, emptiness, despair, and pain — you felt it solely within the framework of yourself. You saw yourself as the victim of someone’s actions, of an outside influence.
Not understanding that they are all your palm. Remove even one element, even one finger, and it will hurt.
Everything that is part of you is necessary for you to understand the significance and importance of every element, every pattern woven on your palm.
There is nothing superfluous there, nothing unnecessary, nothing that hinders you — all of it is you, all of it is unity, shaping your personality. Your subjective thinking will be greatly shaken when it realizes the reality of everything that is happening.
For it is important not to see yourself in the surrounding world, but to see the surrounding world in yourself, accepting it with gratitude and courtesy, recognizing the importance of each one in the story of the creation of your life, in the story of the writing of your destiny by the hands of those who have ever had the honor of touching you.”
