A Lesson from the Spirit

"Why did you come here?"
"To awaken. To know God."
"Each of you who comes seeking awakening can leave with nothing."
"Why, Spirit?"
"You are attending to the wrong things. The abilities to see and hear—those are good, but far more important is the readiness of your soul.
It's like entering a race with different levels of tasks.
Hearing the word 'race,' you train yourself for endurance, for a long run. Because that is logical; it seems logical to you.
But even if you run the distance first, you risk falling into a trap."
"Into what?"
"For example, later you may be presented with a swim, though you do not know how to swim.
You could learn right away, or it may take years.
So those among you who have learned to hear, to see, to feel—that is good.
But cultivating only that ability is to fall into the trap of your own powerlessness. The soul is what you must work on: your worldview, your attitude toward everything happening around you. Not just to feel others, but to merge with them, to plunge completely. That is much deeper and truer.
By working through all the facets of your soul, of your being, you systematically develop your abilities.
You don't need to be the first to arrive; in this race you need to prepare for the next task, to be ready for it.
Therefore all of this happens harmoniously, smoothly, in concert.
Where you practice your abilities while at the same time caring for the inner filling of yourself, for changing your thinking and worldview about everything around you—then, and only then, in this beautiful work, your memory is reborn, your true potential unfolds, opening boundless access to the blessings originally given to you by the Creator himself.
Take them without doubt, create with gratitude, and believe impeccably, righteously."
