Lesson from the Spirit
Learn to see opportunities in the experience you have lived through.
You should pay attention to those places where you doubt the correctness and truth of your story. What does it mean to doubt? It means not accepting the lessons that were given to you. You often complain that you do not have possibilities. But that is only because you refuse to see them.
Your eyes are bound by those tight ropes, ligatures, which express your protest, disagreement, disobedience, reproach, hatred, pity, nonacceptance…
The deeper you sink into the abyss of these fears and troubles, the tighter those ropes draw over your eyes.
It is important to accept your past as an important and precious lesson, to accept it with gratitude, for there your growth is hidden.
Where you were wrong, where you judged someone to be wrong, where you held any opinion about anyone, there you tightened the knots even more.
And with closed eyes it is difficult to see the path, to see any solution, any possibility.
And you go by feel, stumbling, falling, blaming someone again, tying new knots.
And so it goes until you immobilize yourself completely, until you understand that you cannot move, not because you do not see your path, but because the past pulls you so strongly, binds your body so tightly that you cannot stir. You cannot make a decision. But you can loosen the ropes, remove these bonds from yourself.
To accept without snapping back.
Then those ropes, one by one, will begin to fall, laying themselves out as a beautiful plush carpet before your feet. Walking on it, you will feel an unprecedented lightness and the enchantment of the fullness that will come to you.
You will step boldly, with each step sensing the whole beauty of that magnificent pattern which adorns your carpet.
It is not merely seeing something beautiful; it is seeing the beauty of your life, seeing God’s care where you thought yourself alone, feeling the warmth of His smile within you, being filled with His unconditional love for you, wholly, greedily, with breathless wonder. And in that love, to know the truth of His creation, to know God’s purpose.
For to know God’s purpose is simple when you know God within yourself. So be it.
