A Lesson from the Spirit

I am walking along a road, and on both sides of this path there are small burning candles. Ahead is one large candle. These small candles rise up, circle around the flame of the large candle. And its flame begins to burn unevenly.

"What are these little candles?"
"They are echoes of your past.
Echoes of your past life. As long as they burn like that, along the path you are walking, they will illuminate your way.
And you are not afraid of getting lost, turning the wrong way, or stumbling off your road, because you can see where you are going.
"And this candle?"
"This is you yourself.
Look how beautiful, bright, and steady it burns, how trembling its light. What is needed for a candle to burn?
"Air, space."
"You need oxygen, right? And what do you often do? You let these little candles rise higher and higher inside you, until they spiral in a vortex around your own light, upsetting that flame, taking away its oxygen.
What actually happens?
When you lift up your own past, or allow past events to influence you, by doing so you interfere with your inner light.
All these echoes of the past are important; they cannot be separated from you, because they are the very light that lines your road, that points the right direction. It is experience by which you continue on your way.
When you see it like that, and accept it, only then do these small but steadfast lights help you to recognize and claim your path, and to walk it without fear or timidity, because you can see where you are going.
But if you begin to doubt, if you plunge into the whirlpool of irritation from what you have lived through, from the pain you carry and are unable to accept into true light, then all those echoes of the past that you raise up from the depths of your soul begin to interfere with your true light. And it becomes hard to breathe when your chest is squeezed by that heaviness, invisible to the eye but so tangible to your heart, that you do not even notice how not just the candle's flame is going out, but how your eyes grow dim — once lit with desire, possibility, confidence, the strength of that love hidden in them.
And your apathy, unwillingness to do anything or strive anywhere — all of this is merely the consequence of that suffocation spreading inside you.
Free your flame from those hardships that embed themselves as bright sparks into your field.

Every time you feel your powerlessness, apathy, unwillingness, someone’s gripping hands on your breath, simply imagine your candle — steadfast, confident, pure, the candle of the true Divine flame of God within you, which is primordial and meaningful for all that exists. Imagine this flame inflating, expanding its borders, touching that vortex that once influenced you, but only did so then, not now.
Now, all those little candles that grew proud above the great light have fallen, surrendered their glow on your path, where, by illuminating your way, they only serve your good and your unshakable, steady decision to walk your own path of awakening and the rebirth of the Great Spirit within yourself. So be it. 🙏
