A Lesson from the Spirit
"What are you looking for when you've lost?"
"I don't understand."
"You look for reasons, you dig into yourself. Occupying yourself entirely with the emotions that weigh on you, upset you, and destroy you.
You often peer into the past as if it were a nonexistent future, where you change something and live by those nonexistent changes. By doing so you leave a part of yourself there—the part that desires to remain.
But your true path is not to turn back, not to run there at the first call, but to walk forward.
When you feel memories weigh on you, pull you back again and again, forcing you to relive negative moments you perceive as self-punishment—where you failed to watch, where you did not will, where you were afraid, could not, took a wrong turn, where you want to change something in the past—
there you change nothing for the future; you only re-experience those moments, you carry that pain within you as an unwritten rule. And you punish yourself again and again with painful memories.
You cannot be everywhere, because then you will be nowhere.
If you live in the past, where is there room for the present, for your creating, for building something new and better on your path? Is that possible without you?
Conclusions are the only things you must take from the past—lessons of wisdom to create something beautiful in your life, to build, to behold the path you are creating."
