Lesson from the Spirit

"Let them take care of the main thing."
"Of what?"
"Of their soul. When you catch a cold, what do you do?"
"We get treated."
"You do something because you understand your body needs help. Pain, discomfort, malaise—all of that signals that your body needs care.
And what about the soul? Have you noticed how it sends you signals?
Quietly, unspoken, but always in a way you feel more strongly than you feel a cold.
Learn to look at this and see it not as punishment, not as something you must endure and that will pass, but as a call for help where you are the one who can heal.
But if you ignore your soul, you will stop hearing those small signals. And, as with your body, it will only get worse, and it will be harder to find the cause.
Look at yourself, at your body: if you ignore the small signals that tell you treatment is needed, by piling one thing on another it becomes difficult to sort out and untangle that knot; it becomes hard to begin treatment because you won't remember the cause.
And the soul? It is the same. You try to dull that pain, not to hear, not to see, not to feel, and only then, in moments of despair, in moments of the greatest inner rupture, do you suddenly remember that there is a soul and it is asking for help.
But how can you help when you don't remember the causes, because you did not want to remember or see them? Learn to hear and to respond immediately to the signals your soul sends you. Then you won't have to undergo long treatment, you won't have to panic or fall into despondency. You will clearly understand what you are doing and where you are going. All you will need is the willingness to hear."
