Lesson from the Spirit
"Walk along the edge, prepare to fall."
"What does that mean?"
"Of a loss of balance, an inner sense of yourself. Where you do not feel yourself whole.
"What does it mean to feel yourself whole?"
"It means to feel yourself in the heartbeat of the whole world, to be penetrated by that story which keeps the fragments of memories about you. You cannot deny your participation in this great act, and at the same time you do deny it. Denial is sometimes the worst thing that happens to you, when you deny yourself, and therefore the divine essence that you are.
When you are cautious, afraid of your own road, you walk along its very edge, and there—do not grieve, do not complain if a fall catches you. For that is yourself, who by your actions has put down roots in your fate.
But even if you do not fall, your step will slow, searching for that balance that does not belong to you. You will not be able to walk fully; you will content yourself only with small steps, and with the little that you have.
That is not wrong, if having accepted that little, having understood its significance for you, you desire more. Through acceptance, through awareness, through your faith, in every step you take.
And then you will step—not onto the edge of the road, but along its very center, in its middle. Not as a guest passing through, but as the kind master of the path that is ordained for you. So be it."
