Lesson from the Spirit

"Drink yourself to the bottom."
They show a lake, a forest all around it, somewhere in the mountains. It is a blue lake; the bottom cannot be seen, but the water is clear.
"To drink yourself to the bottom does not mean to discover yourself."
"Please, Spirit, explain this saying to me."
"You dive into yourself hoping to find something there. That is the main force that moves you. That is not bad. Only you sometimes err by searching there, at the very bottom, for answers. Sometimes the answers are kept on the surface of the water."
"Please explain."
"Everything depends on you, on your state, on your fullness, on the composition of that content you carry within. Consider: how often do you care for your vessel? You only try to dive to the very depths. You think that having drunk all the water you will reach the very essence of this lake. But that is not so. For there, you may encounter the mire that drags you down.
"And how should one do it correctly?"
"The right thing is to turn to your waters, to the state that is you, to the fullness you have built up, to the purity that reflects yourself.
This is the answer to the question of recognizing yourself.

Only by improving the quality of that water, changing its structure, cleansing it of every defilement, will you see the truth on its surface.
You may turn to yourself as much as you like, but until you, as a true healer, attend to the healing and replenishing of your soul, all your attempts to know the true natural essence of all being will be in vain. For only in crystal-clear water is there a reflection of yourself.
The Mirror of the Soul. So you yourselves say. And that is true. For that mirror is the purity of your thoughts, for that mirror is the purity of your soul, is the purity of your manifested love. All of this is you, for all of this reflects you on the very surface of that water.
"How do we cleanse this water?"
"You know the way. You even know the means to reach that way. But do you so desire it, do you so strive to be accepted by those waters? And only when you have ripened will you begin your path, not at birth."
