Lesson from the Spirit

It shows a great golden mountain.
It shows some enormous deity — God, of unreal proportions, simply immense.
"What do you want to convey to me?"
"Taking the shape and guise of others he can become stubborn or kind, but he is truly himself only when he dances."
"Is this a riddle about Shiva?"
(nods)
"What do you want to convey to me?"
"It is him. It is you who wants to convey him!"
"What do I want to convey?"
"Questions, questions, questions. So many questions that remain unanswered."
"Yes, I would like to know the answer."
"You are only learning to take your first steps, and you already want to fly?"
"Is that your lesson for today?"
"Maybe."

When you want to learn to fly, much of what you desire you do not receive.
"Why? Because we expect it?"
"Because you desire one thing while forgetting another."
"Explain, please."
"When you want to learn to fly, you must first learn to walk. But you desperately try to take off, bypassing the previous steps, bypassing all the lessons. Because of that, nothing works out for you.
When you want something great, likewise you must also desire the small, for in that small is born the greatness you long for. Understanding this, understanding how it is arranged, you will learn to move forward, faster and more easily than before.

Having set yourself a definite goal, a great and necessary goal, first arrange small goals; by passing them one after another, you will reach what you desire.
But do not treat this as coercion, as something unnecessary and unworthy of your attention. That is only how your pride manifests. Quelling pride, accepting each step passed as a gift sent to you from above, as something you love and cherish, you, in that love and in that reverence, will nurture that very great dream, which will gently and tenderly reveal itself to your sight. Not by force, but as you mature, to be worthy of possessing that goal.
You are those who are learning. And in this learning, all the charm of your soul is revealed, all the facets of your being, releasing the potential that will help you come to understand what exactly you desire, what you truly need, and what you have long been seeking as your attention runs over those lessons that found an echo in your Soul.
So it is in spirituality: knowing God is a path where every pause is awareness, where every pause is acceptance, where every step is vision, it is the beholding of that beauty that is sung in your heart. For where there is love there is God.
