A Lesson from the Spirit

They show many umbrellas. They fall from the sky—open black umbrellas.
“By closing yourself off from yourself, you close yourself off from your needs.”
“Please explain.”
“At different stages of your life you encountered certain obstacles, difficulties; you encountered illness, disappointments, needs to love and to forgive, various manifestations of yourself. When you were afraid, when you did not want to, when you feared, avoided, did not accept, you covered yourself with this umbrella, created by you, at your own request. And wherever you went, this umbrella accompanied you, shielding you from everything you did not want to see or understand.”
“What's wrong with that? To shelter?”
“What is an umbrella?”
“I don’t know. Protection?”
“It is your shield from the outside world, from yourself. A shield protects, that is true, but it creates an illusion of life.
The illusory notions of your safety, of your preservation, give a distorted picture of the world, a distorted picture of yourself. Where you will no longer be genuine, where you will not be true, where you lose connection with God.
What is an umbrella?
It is that barrier, that canopy created by you, which separates you from God. You look up to the sky and do not understand why you are not heard, why you are not seen?
You feel that you exist, but you do not.
For you have closed yourself off from yourself and from the whole world under that umbrella invisible to the eye. You do not allow divine energies to come to you, to heal and guide, to fill and bless the path chosen by you.
Allow yourself to accept that world and yourself in this world—sincerely, purely, truthfully, without any distortions in your own conception of yourself and of the world in which you sense yourself, in which you see yourself, and wish to see your ascent, your transformation, your spiritual growth, where you do not regret, where you do not suffer, where you do not forget, but carefully preserve those memories that, gently touching your heart, are reflected in the depth of the soul as an important and tender lesson, that stage of your becoming which was necessary for you.”

They show how that black umbrella dissolves under the bright rays of the sun—filled with bright, all‑forgiving energy that gives love, tenderness, care, and attention. The person walks with lightness and joy, and bushes and trees bloom around him; everything flowers.
“You are those who are made of light. By closing yourselves off from the light, you do not accept your Divine essence; you do not allow that connection, the connection with the Creator himself, to occur. Realize this and accept your essence as the good that has been given to you by the Creator himself.”
