A Lesson from the Spirit
A small cave in the jungle, the rain pouring in sheets. I stand, waiting.
"Why don't you go out?"
"Because of the rain."
"What are you afraid of?"
"Getting wet, I suppose."
"You are not afraid of the rain; you are afraid to go outside."
Who seeks a reason will find a consequence.
"How should I understand that?"
"This is not to be understood, it is to be felt. You look for a reason so you won't go out.
In truth, that is only the consequence of your deep, inner processes of protest. You protest against accepting yourself, accepting the circumstances, those around you, the world itself.
And there will always be that rain, which is merely a cover for your cowardice.
The rain is not an obstacle, it is not a wall. You build that wall around yourself, invisible to the eye. But if you trust and reach out your hand, you will feel warmth and light."
I reach my hand through the rain and there, on the other side, I feel hot warmth. I go further and realize that everything has been transformed. Everything so bright! Bright, huge flowers, large multicolored butterflies around and a crystal-clear blue sky. I have fully come out, I look back, and that thin wall of rain is gone, as is the cave.
"You can remain imprisoned in yourself for years. Or you can trust yourself and go outside, accepting the blessings that are given to you, open to you, entrusted to you.
Do not fear the light coming through the wall you built; this light is the true divine light of the Creator. It is sent to help you, created for you, it is the very extension of yourselves.
Do not fear getting wet just because you hear the call of your soul. You are chosen by the light, coming from the light, calling to the light. You are those who illuminate all around with light, if only you hear God within you. So be it. 🙏
You fear cold and damp without understanding that this rain is not outside but inside the cave in which you sit. And this realization comes only to the one who dares to go out and behold the true light of God.
Do not be afraid to leave behind all that gnawed at you inside that cave — all troubles, disappointments, fears, doubts, insecurities, sufferings, torments, pain… All that which echoed as a groan in your soul is left there. Feel that and sense how you, born of the light, are filled with the true divine light of the Creator, allowing it to care for you just as you care for and trust it. So be it! 🙏
