A Lesson from the Spirit

A vast field of red flowers, a deep crimson. The wind rocks them from side to side. A girl walks in a long white dress with a trailing train. She walks through the field and the train leaves a wondrous pattern. White and red merge, red and white.

“What is this about?”
“About faith and turmoil.”
“I’m listening.”
“Faith is not what you hear; it is what you feel inside, with the soul.”
“And turmoil?”
“Turmoil is like these red flowers — bright, it draws you in, it involves you. Many give in to that call.”
“What are you trying to say?”
“Where there is turmoil, there is no room for faith. Until the wind calms, doubts will not leave your life.”
“Explain.”
“Do you see this field?”
“Yes.”
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
“I agree.”
“But can flowers bloom forever?”
“No.”
“Right. Your turmoil is only this red flower, swaying in the wind from side to side, in doubt and uncertainty. How long it blooms in your soul depends on your faith. You are the wind rocking these flowers, but once your faith strengthens, this field blazing with color will quiet.”

They showed how the clouds parted, the sun appeared, a bright light, a very bright light that transformed the red flowers into white. The wind died down. The girl in the white dress stands in the middle of the blossom, watching and smiling.

“Turmoil is only a storm. How long it lasts is for you to decide. You are the creator of your consciousness. You are the craftsman of your soul. So what holds you back? Pride, insecurity, turmoil…?”
“Why does turmoil happen?”
“From lack of knowledge. Faith is strengthened by knowledge. Faith in yourself is also strengthened by knowledge. A person who does not know, who does not care to learn, who does not wish to work on themselves, gets lost in doubts, enslaved by turmoil. And this concerns more than just a single faith. What is faith?”
“Faith in oneself and in God.”
“Right. But faith is much more and wider than you think. It is not only you and God, not only the link between you; it is connection with the world around you, it is feeling yourself in every passerby’s glance, seeing yourself reflected in a fallen drop of dew — it is everything and nothing specific. It is wholeness, the wholeness of being.
Therefore, for the one weak in faith, life is harder. What is your life? Making choices? Every day you make choices, but can a decision be made without faith? Faith is needed as your stronghold, your fort, your rear.
And you will see how boundless your possibilities are, how beautiful the world around you is — a world created by you, for you. Your whole world is only a reflection of your actions, your thoughts, your decisions.
“What do you mean?”
“Build the world with faith and truth, in the true unconditional love of the Creator for each of you and for the world around. So be it.”
