A Lesson from the Spirit
Yesterday I was on a very interesting journey through the desert. The Spirit told me to go to a well that is no longer active, buried beneath the ground. And in that place I would be told about the Book of Being.
“There is some old well there, there once was. And in that place is buried not a treasure, but a spring of knowledge; to lift it from the silt and read the inscription will not be easy.”
-What is this all about? What is in that book?
-The Book of Being is the sun peeking over the mountains. It is the dew covering the fields. It is the wind sweeping across these steppes. It is the water that gives life. The Book of Being is all of this. And all of this is you and in you.
By disidentifying from this world, you forgot, and so you ceased to hear your own voice of nature. You are nature. You are the rustle of the wind. You are a drop of dew. You are a handful of earth. You are the fiery sun.
All that you perceive, all that you feel and observe, is you. You reflect this world within yourself. And this world reflects your inner state: struggle or harmony, acceptance or denial, joy or sorrow…
And the more sorrowful and hateful things you find in the depths of your soul, the more you will distance yourself from yourself and from the world around you.
The more you will fail to recognize the world that once was familiar to you, no longer known as something intimate. Not because it was long ago and you have grown, but because you allowed yourself to forget.
You grew weary, lost faith, became exhausted, and step by step drifted away, forgetting the familiar paths.
But each hour strikes a certain trail, each hour determines events, and you, by arranging your events, you lay out a new route for the whole world.
You have the power to be privileged by this awareness and to endow the whole world with it.
Not as a reward, not as your specialness or chosenness, but as your duty to yourself. Do you feel the difference?
Do you feel your responsibility now?
How long have you been moving toward this?
How long have you been led to it, prepared, instructed?
Learn to remember, lifting from the silt the ancient tale of your soul’s own stories.
And in those tales, like a kind storyteller, paint that future which does not yet exist. It exists only here and now, at the point of your awakening. Redirect, reallocate your energetic resources in such a way as to resolve to surpass yourself in your mission.
