Lesson from the Spirit
The fear of being deceived by society is nothing other than the fear of getting lost within oneself.
Wherever you expect anything from society or from any single person, you are merely nailing shut the doors of your subconscious that open onto many kinds of knowing.
The fear of not being accepted by society, of being rejected; the fear of appearing before others, of saying something, of taking action, of doing—fears of disappointment and wandering when it’s hard to find a place that fits you—these are echoes of your displaced inner world, where the focus of attention shifts onto those voids inside you that you are unable to fill with anything living while you cling to the nonexistent.
As soon as you doubt yourself, you fling those doors wide open with fear.
But the moment you decide to be yourself, whole and indivisible, the focus of your attention settles on bright particulars that, like placed beacons, indicate the true direction of the path.
Your path is abstract, yet your actions, the power of thought and word, are utterly real. And this is where you have the right to influence your own inner processes that are taking place now.
