A Lesson from the Spirit

When you float down a river, you cannot enjoy the surrounding beauty if you must look forward, fighting the current, the waves...
But if you calm yourself, if you let these waters that fill you bring rest and peace, you immediately notice so much beauty around you, so many things both new and once familiar!
Your path does not change, the riverbed does not change, but your attitude, the water itself, quiets, allowing you to see the beauty in the stillness of the world around you.

If inside you are filled with bitterness, anxieties, doubts, you will inevitably see something in the world around you: busy people, nature's disobedience, preoccupation, impatience, irritation, rejection...
Not because the world has been distorted around you, but because you fail to notice the beauty of this world.
It is like a word you have spoken. Its meaning depends on the tone, on the depth you put into it.
If you put care into it, care will answer you. Where you say something in irritation, you will receive irritation in return.
And how often you are used to blaming someone, like a picky buyer selectively choosing a product.
But if you come to your calm, to your peace, you will understand that you are not the one buying, sifting and choosing.
You are the one who has received a gift, the one who has been given a chance to awaken his soul. And everything becomes different.
Because you are the one who changes that otherness, you are the one who creates the world within yourself, and therefore changes yourself.

So come to a single peace, expressed by your steadfast perception of the whole as one and as an important part of yourself.
For you are one in the unity of thoughts of a pure, unblemished soul.

Today was a simple lesson, understandable to many, and yet many do not see it, letting it pass with their hasty actions.
And he will be right who agrees to see the larger thing, not somewhere out ahead, beyond the mountains, but that larger thing which surrounds him here and now.
And he will not notice, admiring it, how his path comes to both beginning and end.
