A Lesson from the Spirit

The Spirit sits by the fire, warming his hands on a cool evening. Feeling the chill, I sat opposite him to warm myself at the flames. The Spirit said

"By the fire it's always warm, isn't it?"
"Yes."
"You come to warm yourself by the fire, to receive its heat. Warmth always brings a smile to your face. Whenever you reach out your hands to the fire, you smile. That desire to be by the fire, to touch its warmth, to be filled with that heat — it is so natural. But what is the fire?"
"The soul of a person."
"Right. The fire is your true love of the manifested Creator; it is your inner light within each of you. It is the flame of your heart. And the longer it burns, the more it blazes, the more hearts it warms around it. Everyone who touches your field begins to smile as well. They come closer, reach out to you, and smile. You are the divine flame and the light that gives love.

Go, do not be afraid, and you will see how your life begins to change, how the lives of those who warm themselves in your light begin to change. You are filled with love and give it to all. This is the greatest energy — the energy of absolute, unconditional, true love of the Creator manifested in you.

Open to yourself, open to the world without fears and doubts, without sorrow and anxieties, in full trust in yourself and in the inner light that fills you, in full trust and with gratitude to the true love of the Creator.
So be it."
