A Lesson from the Spirit
Yesterday I asked the Spirit why certain events happen in our lives. I received another lesson.
And why do rivers flow into a single ocean?
Everything is a lawfulness of flow.
Life, in a sense, is also a current: of time, events, thoughts, deeds, regrets and admonitions, of guardianship and teaching...
When you think about life, imagine it as a river.
What is yours like?
Turbulent and restless, with winding rapids and sharp rocks?
Or a silent water-surface, the grandeur of the soul having been attained?
Both are true. Both are you and about you.
Whatever it is, however swiftly your river of life runs, however stormy and overflowing it may seem, all is for the good, as long as you do not wish to see that river dried up, exhausted, vanishing.
As long as you wish to fill it with the waters of space, pouring into it all events, one after another, into one, merging in that river as a single vast stream, you live.
It doesn't matter whether you rush in wild leaps, skirting sharp rocks, or glide quietly and serenely.
In either case, you reach the boundless ocean of knowledge.
As long as you are afloat, as long as you see yourself thus—alive, feeling, perceiving, sensing, speaking, hearkening to true knowledge—you feel life. For every particle of life is your indisputable form of coexisting with the one earth, with your lineage of grandeur. There, as you comprehend the branches of necessity, importance, and need of your being, you comprehend the greatness of the unfolding not only of your lineage but of the wholeness of your soul: its multifaceted nature, its many sides, its fullness and significance in the single ocean of being. There, in those calm waters, knowing no torment or barriers, your soul will soar, turned toward that greatness of the Lord who is gracious to you by your fate, instructing and teaching, correcting and helping you pass where you saw no passage, where you had blocked your own path with stones, not understanding that, by going past those stones, you will reach the peak of your meaning in the unified diversity of all that exists.
So be it.
