I am standing on a huge glossy snow‑white slab. This slab rests at the level of the clouds. I am completely alone.
"Spirit, where am I?"
"You are in your abode. This is your starting point."
"You are used to listening to others' opinions, but not your own. You forget yourself, and that is why it is so empty.
You go through these lessons so that everyone may know."
"I understand, I am ready. What is the lesson about?"
"This is a lesson in trusting yourself.
You have become so accustomed to listening to what others say, to the opinions they impose on you and force you to accept as truth, that you have forgotten that truth exists? Truth is inside each of you. But you rarely listen to yourselves. It is easier for you to take your cue from those around you and from their judgments.
Those around you. They form a closed ring around you. It is like walking in a circle, repeatedly setting out from the same point. Each time you move you expend energy, but in the end you return to the starting point — having achieved nothing, learned nothing, seen nothing.
Listen to yourself. Let your world fill with things that matter to you, events that matter to you, views, ideas, insights, realizations that matter to you. Fill yourself by building your inner world in complete harmony with yourself.
Do not be crushed in hours of thought and anxiety, for you are the light of God — you only need to open to it.
By heeding others' opinions contrary to your own desire, contrary to your will, you deprive yourself of a path of development.
You cannot walk another's road, only your own. And that road is known only to you, and it is drawn for you alone."
My slab fills with different rooms. Many doors, all beautiful, adorned with flowers.
"What is behind these doors?"
"Behind each of these doors — there is you, manifestations of you, what is dear to you, what is valuable to you, what you need to know yourself."
I open the first door and see a rocking horse — a little swing.
"This is the children's room."
"Right, children."
The next door. I open it and there is a black typewriter with golden keys, a desk, books. It's an office.
"Show me what is behind the third door?"
The third door — flowers. They grow in pots — flowers I have grown.
"Is this what I create?" The Spirit nodded.
"What next, can you show me behind the fourth door?"
I open the door. Very bright, a very intense light. This light comes from around the corner.
"What is this light?"
"This is your vision."
"And what is behind the fifth door?"
The door opposite. I open it — there is simply nature. Nature. Very beautiful, fields of incredible colors with flowers, a rainbow, butterflies, birds. Incredible.
"What is this?"
"This is your world that fills you with energy."
"Nature?"
"Yes. It gives you strength, it fills you."
"What do you want to say?"
"I want to say that you must learn to see more broadly. Not to think more broadly, but to see more broadly, to feel more. Learn to listen to yourselves. When you do not hear yourself, when you close yourself off, close your soul from yourself, separating yourself — you commit a great crime against yourself. You do not allow yourself to know, you do not allow yourself to grow. Whatever happens to you, learn to listen to yourself. Try starting with small everyday questions.
Stop, close your eyes, turn inward and ask. And you will begin to hear an answer — a subtle echo. Then you will hear it more clearly, more brightly, more loudly, and you will learn to navigate the space of your world by following your inner voice, by following your inner Divine light that enlightens you. A light that gives you the ability to see, a light that guides you along the best path of events for your development. The path of development where, being part of one great divine design, being the great and pure energy of the Creator manifested in yourselves, you will know God within you. So be it.
