Lesson from the Spirit

When you look at the horizon, you see there the point where worlds touch: the world of heaven and the world of earth. At that point they meet, join, sharing their interests equally.
Of course, this is all a metaphor. Yet it invites reflection on your vision, on the breadth of your gaze, its depth and receptivity.
Sky and earth seem so different and so far from each other from the standpoint of your ordinary sight, but from the standpoint of knowing the Universe, of studying its scales, that distance is negligibly small. It fits into the understanding of a single point of contact between matter: heavenly and earthly, spiritual and bodily.
By widening your outlook, allowing your vision to extend beyond your own horizon, you move onto a completely different rung of consciousness’s evolution. It is like stepping through the looking glass, where what once seemed vast and unfathomable finds its home, its inner fullness and relevance. Everything depends on the breadth of your view, and this is not only about spiritual practices; it is also about your everyday life, where, when you make a decision, you try to grasp the measure of its usefulness in order to understand the importance of that event for the formation of the spiritual being that you are.
And so you no longer aggress, do not take offense, do not fret, running from corner to corner like a cornered animal; you apprehend the scope of what is happening, which lies in the answer to your deed, thought, action. Each time you hesitate to reply, or feel a rising discontent within, close your eyes and imagine the horizon. That line, that point of contact between the spiritual and the material world, will suddenly become for you an intelligible, effective argument to bring you to reason and to благостное—benevolent—influence upon you from the standpoint of understanding the matter of being, understanding the energies of the cosmos and accepting a certain consensus to which you come, rejecting any negative influence from outside upon yourself.
