A Lesson from the Spirit
I found myself on the shore of a body of water with many floating ice floes on it. The Spirit stood on an ice floe and waited for me.
"Why are you standing here? Why don't you go forward?"
"Many are probably afraid to go."
"You are not afraid of not going, you are afraid of the road, you are afraid of falling. You are afraid of the judgments of others and your own judgments. So you prefer to stand. But do you develop that way?
Your life is a road, a road to knowing yourself and God within you. It is a road to knowing love for yourself and for those around you.
You will not come to love, and therefore you will not come to yourself, if you stand still. For fears and doubts are not about love.
As soon as you stop seeing only pain and despair ahead, as soon as you trust yourself and take a step onto that floe, the road will line up before you in a straight line, lit by warm light. But on that road there is no place for doubt, anger, hatred—only love.
If you hesitate, you will inevitably begin, from your insecurity, to rock the floe—sooner or later you will surely fall into the water. And then it will be even harder for you to trust yourself, shedding the hatred that has clung to you toward that road, that path, that floe that gives you a way.
If you close your eyes, if you close your heart, it will be hard for you to see. These floes are not an obstacle on your way to the other shore.
They are not an obstacle—they are your road. But how you walk it depends on you. You can fall and get up and go on.
But if you fall and then resent, become upset, hate—you will rock the floe and in the end fall into the water.
When something happens in your life—stop and consider what you feel: fear, anxiety, doubt, mistrust, horror? That is your floe on which you stand. The more you think negatively, the more you will lose your balance on it, rocking from side to side, the greater the chance you will fall into the icy water, from which it is hard to climb back to shore.
Much depends on how you look at yourself, how you see yourself, what you think of yourself and what you mean to yourself. What significance are you filled with now, with what feelings and thoughts? All of this together forms the picture of perceiving yourself as a spiritual unit and perceiving yourself as part of the one whole of Divine space.
Walk steadily on your path, walk with a pure, open heart, trusting yourself and what is happening around you. All is for the good.
