A Lesson from the Spirit
Below me the city at night, beautiful, bright. It shows how people spend this evening in different ways. Someone dances, someone writes, reads. It's as if I'm peering into windows. The light goes out, it's dark, nothing is visible.
"We used to manage without this light," someone says.
"Spirit, is this a lesson?" I ask.
"You have gone through much, learned much. And yet there is still much to learn. Give me your hand."
The Spirit shows someone in panic, terrified of the dark. And the Spirit asked,
"How did you manage before this light?"
"I don't know, the stars helped, they shone?"
"Haven't they stopped doing that now?"
"No, they haven't stopped shining."
"Then what are you afraid of? What frightens you?"
The Creator made sure that light always accompanies you. But you have grown so accustomed to deceiving yourselves, creating whole worlds, playing out and living the role you assigned yourselves, that the moment you are pulled away from that, you lose your way—because you have forgotten what it is to live in true light.
You invented so much artificial light and are still afraid of something. Why? Because it is only an illusion you created. And the deeper you sink into it, believing in it and hoping for its miracle, the further you move away from your true self, and therefore from the knowledge given to you at the beginning. This knowledge is not about science.
It is knowledge of the reason for being, of the order of the universe, of the true purposes of your destiny.
You think all is well; you have built within your house, with the care entrusted to you by the Creator, your own house of illusions.
But the moment something goes wrong (as just now, the light went out), you fall into panic and despair—the fear of being exposed for that illusion you so carefully constructed. And since you created it, you are capable of realizing and finding the true knowledge that is stored within you.
"How do we do that, Spirit? Teach me."
"Press your palms to your chest. And feel—not just the beating inside your heart, not just your breath, but the rhythm of your soul that answers you with responses, with ideas, with suggestions.
There is a whole world there, real, extraordinary and beautiful. And now you are no longer afraid. There is no panic, no pain. And trusting this rhythm, you can step forward, feeling and trusting the voice that leads you along the true and luminous path to knowing your real self.
With a plea and gratitude to the Creator, the Maker, omnipresent, all-forgiving and understanding, with the generosity of His open, burning heart, whose grace, boundless love, pours over your heads in the true, divine, unconditional stream of the power and glory of your God.
I kept both palms on my solar plexus the whole time, and such heat, and a feeling of calm, serenity, fearlessness—even in complete darkness.
A Lesson from the Spirit Below me the city at night, beautiful, bright.
