A Lesson from the Spirit
- What is in your pockets?
- I don’t understand what you mean? Money? (The Spirit smiles.)
- No, I am not asking about that material thing that occupies the minds of many of you.
When your pockets are empty, you have nothing to buy. This is not about the material world, nor about the values that appear as such in the eyes of many. No. This is about the spiritual with which you are filled.
So, if your pockets are empty, where do you go next? Why and where are you heading?
Only by filling yourself with particles of spirituality do you fill that invaluable baggage you carry with you.
Many complain about perennial problems, many expect something and receive less than hoped, for various reasons. Expectation is never simple.
- What do you mean? Fill up with the spiritual in order to go somewhere? What does buying with empty pockets mean?
- You look, you compare, and you see yourself in the place of others. But why have you decided that that place suits you? When you lack certain knowledge and skills, what good is it to dream of greatness without taking small steps? That is why I ask about your pockets.
In other words, when going toward a great goal, fill yourself with small deeds—daily, consistent, meaningful.
For what good are empty words that do not fill you, what good are worthless actions that drain you?
When you set a goal, you are used to seeing only it. You do not understand that the goal is actually in your path, in your development.
And this is not about justice at all, no.
It is about the significance of your deeds, expressed in the striving to know, to delve, to satiate yourself with those knowledges that will lead you onto the path that matters to you.
Even fledglings learning to fly first warm up their wings and wait for feathers to come in.
You, however, often hurry to jump into flight and complain that it is unavailable to you.
But what will happen if a fledgling jumps out unprepared? Is that good?
So, when you learn to look at your unfathomable goals as a kind of lesson to be read, passed through, absorbed, understood, studied, and prepared for, then you will learn to receive what you desire.
