The instrument: the flower of love

Imagine an absolutely boundless green field. And in the middle of that green rises a thin stem with a tender bud. This unopened flower is fragile, defenseless; it is a newly born, absolutely pure energy of love.
Very slowly it lifts its head—the delicate pink bud. And the sun's energy fills it with warmth, warms it with its gentleness, caress, its love and care. Under these tender rays of the sun your bud begins to unfold slowly.

Here the first petal has opened—that is self-love. You are the creator of love; endow this petal with your color. Watch how it plays with sunlit highlights on the pure drops of dew.
Feel this love for yourself. Absorb it into yourself.
And now open the next petal, and likewise give it the character of your love—love for your parents. Imagine what color it is. It may be two-toned. Imagine how you see your parents, how they are reflected in your soul. Imagine—you can do anything. You are the creator of this love. And feel this love, this acceptance, forgiveness, sincerity, understanding toward your parents. Let it pass through you, through your soul; feel how this love stretches like a thread from your heart to that petal. You are connected to this flower—you are part of it, it is part of you.
Next open petal after petal to all whom you love and to those you wish to love. You can group them as it resonates with you.
Open boldly petal after petal. And each time connect your soul by a fine thread of love-energy with each of these petals.
And now, when your flower has fully opened, you look at it with amazement, with wonder, with admiration at the beauty you have created yourself. You have recreated within yourself this flower of unconditional, sincere, pure love for yourself and for those around you. This is you—you yourself. This is your love, this is your intention to know yourself.
See how the little, absolutely pure drops of dew on each of these petals shimmer in many colors from the warm sunbeams. How beautiful they are, how beautiful this purity of dew is, like fine crystal, amplifying the radiance on each petal. It multiplies your love in each of these petals.
And now feel how along the threads that connect you with each petal, energy returns to you—a strong, all-encompassing, filling energy of love. Feel how much love you have received now, how much love you were able to give to the world around you, how much love you were able to give to yourself.
Look at this flower with full acceptance of yourself and acceptance of the people around you. With full understanding and trust in yourself and in the world around. Feel this sensation of absolute pure sincere love, true childlike happiness, a feeling of gratitude, a feeling of wonder, joy and all-encompassing warmth within you.

If it is difficult for you, then imagine these people as children—innocent, not understanding. Children who make mistakes; they are learning. Become their teacher; become for them a guide of true love.
