A Lesson from the Spirit

Truth must be lived, not sought within yourself. When you search for yourself, when you seek truth inside you, you shut your eyes to much of what is happening to you and around you.

You skirt unpleasant topics gently, avoid conversations that would keep you from grasping what matters.
But the sick person will not care for their health unless they need it. They lament only when they demand help, attention to themselves.
Truth is lived in each day in which hope burns, in which love, understanding and compassion, mercy and attention burn. Truth is not spoken aloud, not memorized like a prayer.
It is lived in the quiet, serene state of inner peace.

When you learn to live without fears, hurts, and sorrows; when you learn to love wholly, indivisibly—not with empty words, but silently, softly, barely breathing; when you learn not merely to see but to notice others and the troubles that trouble them, not only to see yourself in others’ troubles; when you learn to be not only the one who teaches everyone, but equal with everyone,
then you will learn to live truth in your life, and you will find your glory in the boundless happiness of those around you, in the groundless joy of those who exult and celebrate their freedom.
