Lesson from the Spirit

Gluttony is not about food at all.
It is about a lack of balance, about excessive consumption of anything, an overzealous drive toward something. Greed toward oneself, toward others, demands inflated in many aspects of life.
The absence of balance gives rise to various ailments. I am not speaking only of the body, of physical manifestation, but of what this person begins to feel—how they begin to feel themselves—and what events unfold around them.
Everything arranges itself in such a way as to make it clear that it is time to stop, to reflect, to temper one’s ardor.
Moderation is the key to many things.

If there were no moderation in nature, waters would have filled the lands. And various cataclysms—earthquakes, volcanoes—would have enslaved the whole planet.
If everyone begins to show moderation, listening to the state of the Soul, which is like an invisible compass sewn into your body to become your orientation, your hint, that guiding presence you will follow again, trusting as before, and begin the ascent toward the great house.

Let go of anxiety, worries, unrest, and fill yourself with lightness, and with answers, and you will be able to do much more than you had intended.
When you take the first step toward yourself, and embrace yourself like a tender and important child, with care and a readiness to help with the lessons of your wisdom.

What is gluttony?
To live to satisfy your greed, your immoderate desires, nurtured by groundless covetousness.

Find yourself, travel the path to yourself, and all of this will become unnecessary. And you will understand that it was all merely your inner spiritual need, not for physical feasts and celebrations.
